Three dozen???? there are that many on the west coast alone. Cali has twelve correspondence and online law schools, although not accredited, are registered by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. TWELVE!!!! Not to mention the awful ones like Monterey or PCL. We should literally shut down all the non accredited law schools plus about 60 of the accredited ones. That leaves about 140 law schools enough for every state to at least have 1 and for the bigger states to have between 2-4 (NY and Cali could probably get away with 5).

For the record Im still hoping I didnt bomb last Saturday, so I can get in IUPUI (my first choice). I know its far below what most people here get, but I will be happy with a 157, and a 155 will keep me from a retake in December! Its all about where I am, and where I want to be. Wish me luck! Even though at this point as a result of the crazy RC and the zoning game, im thinking I would be lucky to break a 150 despite my consist PT's that landed in the low 160's.

In response to overwhelming negative response about Indiana Tech, I wish all the best, but as I said earlier, replacing IUPUI is gonna be tough, especially at that sticker price!

I hate defending a school but PCL's annual tuition is only $4,000 per year. It's probably the only law school that isn't doing it entirely for the money.

A disturbing trend is the movement to create "franchised" law schools. The term "franchised law school" being used to describe a new law school started by a school located hundreds of miles away from the new law school.

This model exists as the following:

+ Concordia University is a college with an enrollment of 3,100+/- studets in Portland Oregon. In 2009 Concordia had a reported endowment of just $7.2 million. Guess what? Concordia statrted a new law school in Boise Idaho and welcomed its first law school class this falll (2012) . I am not sure why a school in Oregon chose to start a new law school in Idaho.

+ John Marshall Law School (Atlanta) was accredited by the ABA in 2005. John Marshall Law School decided to expand enrollment and this fall opened a new campus in Savannah Georgia as "The Savannah law School".

+ The Thomas M. Cooley School of Law with four (4) existing law school campuses in (i) Lansing Michigan, (ii) Grand Rapids Michigan, (iii) Auburn Hills Michigan, and (iv) Ann Arbor Michigan expanded enrollment by opening a fifth (5th) law school location in Tampa Florida this year.

Indiana Tech law school admits 1st student

Indiana Tech's law school has admitted its first student nine months before its scheduled opening.

Purdue University senior Megan Marks is the first student admitted to the private university's law school, which will become Indiana's fifth.

The 21-year-old psychology major is a Fort Wayne native. She tells the Journal Gazette reports ( --LinkRemoved--) she's looking forward to studying law in the city where she grew up.

Law School Dean Peter Alexander says several people expressed interest in an early admissions program, so the school has offered a streamlined process to meet the need. Through the early admissions program, applicants can secure a seat months before regular applicants. They must agree not to submit an application to another law school.

Indiana Tech is seeking to admit 100 students in its first class.
