according to posts from actual students who have posted their schools' grade distribution and mandatory drop policies, in addition to some information from the schools themselves, I have found that these schools' actual attrition from academic failure is about the same as at least one other school without a mandatory distribution and a decent curve (B/3.0 curve). I'm wondering at what point should a mandatory drop policy concern you? what is an average amount of academic attrition (at which point we can say it is more dependent on the student than school policies)?
hope this question makes sense.

Only schools that curve to a B- or below actually require that F's be distributed.

I'll never forget a conversation I had with a young man who was trying to graduate from Akron. When he found out I was attending law school he basically said, "Yeah, like 1/3-2/3 of your class will probably drop out."tfleming09 wrote:I'm assuming something that only festering TTTs that curve out 1/3 of their class have.kalvano wrote:What the hell is a mandatory drop policy?

It seems shitty and terrible, but it probably is the best thing that will happen to the bottom third at schools like that.catholicgirl wrote:I'll never forget a conversation I had with a young man who was trying to graduate from Akron.
