Hello. In recent light of the non-merger of Rowan and Rutgers Camden, I present my question.

Rutgers Newark Full Ride w/ 6000g stipend 3.0 GPA requirement
or
Rutgers Camden Full Ride w 15000g stipend. 3.5 GPA requirement if i fall to 3.0 or higher. drops to 9,000.

I rather work in NY, North Jersey market but I dont mind the Philly market.

what do you all think? please include reasons

thanks for your opinions in advance :D

15k stipend? no wonder that school nearly got bought out.

you need to be realistic with the job markets from both of these schools. and those stipulations are still quite high. try to get them removed.

i would go with Newark, partly because your at least close to NYC and there is fun stuff to do there.

Does the stipend drop to 9k? Or does the scholarship total drop to 9k?

I've heard no good stories of living in Camden.

I'd go to Newark. Better quality of life.

3.5 at Camden is around top 15%

Camden is not as bad as people say.

I would try to remove the stipulations. Other than that, do you want to work in south jersey/Philly or do you want to work in north jersey/NYC.

the Full ride is from my army waiver. offered scholarships which basically became stipends due to the nature of my waiver. i prefer north jersey/nyc market but i havent really explored philly so idk.

I made this choice back in 2010. Chose Camden over Newark (same $$ at each) even though I was from North Jersey because I liked it better (plus a variety of other reasons). Did you get a chance to visit both? Because they have very very different vibes. If you really really prefer NYC/North Jersey, though, you should choose Newark. I was far more neutral on NYC-North NJ/Philly-South NJ.

Caveat: I did transfer, but it was NOT because I didn't like Camden.
