Suffolk $ or Hofstra $$

Hey I'm curious what many of your forum contributors think of my dilemma. I currently am choosing between attending Suffolk University or Hofstra in the fall. I was offered a 5K scholarship at Hofstra and 2.5 K at Suffolk.
About me: I became interested in becoming a lawyer after witnessing my Parents divorce, child custody trial, and resolution. My Psychologist suggests the way I coped with the emotional disturbance of my parents divorce was by internalizing the legal battle around me which was tearing my family apart. I suddenly found myself researching civil procedure, tort law, and common law practices. I memorized supreme court cases, and found myself mimicking my parents' divorce attorney in the bathroom, "My client is innocent of battery", these sorts of things
. Also I am inspired by the movie Intolerable Cruelty with George Clooney. I think becoming a divorce attorney is a great way to make a lot of money and meet beautiful Meditteranian women.
Because of these reasons I would like to practice divorce law at a Big Law firm in NYC or LA.
I think Hofstra has more of a national reputation, however I am not sure If I will fit in as well with the student body. I have 4 friends in New England I could occasionally visit if I attend Suffolk; they could give me solace from my studies and a diversion away from my family life. However, I think I could find many things to do at Hofstra. I have heard it is close to a couple of baseball stadiums so I could learn about baseball law and that sort of thing. Let me know what you guys think.

IMO Hofstra > Suffolk for baseball law

My advice is to go to St. John's. It is very close to Citi Field. That way, you'll become a pro at baseball law in no time.

wtf is baseball law? Hofstra and national reputation should never be uttered in the same sentence. You’re going to need a psychologist even more if you attend either of those choices. Biglaw doesn’t touch divorce law.

I think Hofstra has more of a national reputation
Hof is like the 9th best school in NY. It has no national reputation. Good luck on your quest to make it rain and attract beautiful women. My goals are similar.

Answer23 a quick FYI (For your information): baseball law is the study of the theory of the rules of baseball and its application. As well as contract and salary negoiation for players coaches. Its pretty cool stuff. I think Hofstra has a better program than Suffolk because of its location.

I've heard this is an expanding area of law. Would be a good thing to specialize in now that the international space law market has dried up.

I understand its tough for a lot of people to find jobs right now, but how many people out there are like me and truley passionate about both divorce law and baseball law. I think most people make the mistake of going to law school with nebulous goals but I have two very distinct and uniquie paths I can take., or possibly even combine. I also have experience playing some baseball so I think that puts me in a better category than most other Hofstra grads.
I bet if you look at the employment statistics for Hofstra graduates passionate about both baseball law and divorce law it would be over 95%. Not convinced by your "statistics"

A good flame needs to start simple and then draw people in. Next time begin with generalities and then go into specifics.
Still, good first effort. I give it 165. All the pieces are there for your second try to be EPIC LULZ. Patience will come with maturity.

7/10 would read again. Though I agree, start softer next time. The finish was fantastic, but I was very aware I was reading a flame.
Baseball law though, that got me chuckling.

Solid. Solid. Though the best part about a great flame is that you don't know its a flame until very late in the game. Here you were a bit too quick to jump the gun and give it away. Still good stuff though.
