Question about "ties"

I know this has been discussed in the past on here, but I have couple of questions that I'd like to ask.
I go to school in the midwest (Ohio to be exact) but ultimately want to be in the southeast. I lived in Tennessee for a little while and would like to live/work there or in Alabama or Georgia. I am in the process of doing LSAT prep, and have a goal of attending UGA, Bama, UTK, or Florida. (I have some family in Florida fwiw) Would not being "southern" screw me out of a job if I was attend one of these schools?
I realize it doesn't mean much until the kill the LSAT, but I'm just curious about how strong ties must be, since I'd like to end up in one of these places.
