dropped a first deposit on two t-14's just in case, but does anyone know if bad grades last semester would cause law schools to revoke their acceptances?

(i don't actually have bad grades yet, but the midterm i just took today was killer)

It won't get revoked for that, don't worry.

In many T14 deposit agreements, it is.

These schools also share a master deposit list with each other. The list came out 2 days ago and many multiple-deposit applicants are getting emails/calls from deans asking them to withdraw one or more of their deposits or risk losing their spot. Berkeley (and there may be a few other ones) is one of the few that will allow you to delay your commitment until June. But unless you have an extension in writing, you should follow through with your agreement.

Answer to the subject, you bet your sweet bottom they can...... (for instance, rob a bank to pay your first deposit, get caught, and see if you are still welcome....)

For bad grades? Probably not unless you fail something and don't graduate....

They aren't just going to pull his offer without telling him though. I'm almost positive that someone from admissions would get into contact with him and give him a firm date to make a decision. Making two deposit is absolutely not outside of the norm.

The list of candidates that double deposited was just released. You are very likely going to be contacted and asked WTF is up. I don't think that it's it's an ethical breach unless your acceptance has very specific language, but if you're contacted about it you may be told you have to choose.

From a waitlist update that Dean Richard at UVA sent yesterday:

The only new information I have to share is that LSAC now has released the names of individuals who currently are holding seats at more than one law school; and we have learned that a number of our depositors are holding seats at UVA Law and at another institution. We are in the process of checking in with those individuals to determine whether or not they intend to join us at UVA Law. This may result in some seats opening within the next week.

If you graduate, you're in.

Okay so I chose; the short version of that story is that I heard UVA is gpa conscious so I dropped one on a lower t14 too. Now I'm looking at 2 c/c+ (finance and cs/programming), which will drop me from 3.5 to 3.4... Am I screwed?

Your fine, you are already in. There no reason to contact them to tell them that, unless you have a scholarship or something that demands it.
