Michigan (45k) or NYU (sticker)?

I just got off the NYU waitlist (or so I assume based on the fact that I can log into the ASW after today's DLS on my status checker)!
I've already deposited at Michigan, but NYU was my top choice all along. Is it worth the significantly higher CoL + no merit aid? My interest is in Environmental Law. I'm not BigLaw or bust. I want to live in NYC at some point, but going to Michigan doesn't necessarily rule that out.
I want to choose NYU. I'm just not positive.

Well here's my blessing: choose NYU.
It's your top choice, you wanted it all along and now you got in off the wait list! 15k/year isn't enough to pull you away from that. Take the acceptance and run with it!
Congrats on getting in off the WL, by the way.

Since "not big law or bust" (instead of"absolutely will not do big law") = "will be gunning for big law by 2L OCI", the answer is NYU, IMO. Even if you were PI, it would probably be the same answer, though.

I find it strange that this poll is currently at 60/40, while the other person who seems to be in almost my exact same position is at 80/20.

I think this is a wash. Michigan will be around 50-60k cheaper when including COL, but considering NYU's better placement rates I would think it's worth that. Plus, NYU is your favorite. I think it's definitely ok to go NYU.
