Choosing a School for Detroit

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area but I'm trying to get some more information and perspective on how Wayne State and MSU are regarded in Metro Detroit. My number one goal is UM, but I want to stay in Michigan after graduation so I want to find out which of Wayne or MSU is more highly regarded. I take the LSAT in June And have a 3.55 GPA.

Michigan is best but not many Michigan bros stay in the area. Michigan State is better than the next batch. The next batch is better than Cooley.

Thank you for the response. So in your opinion Wayne has been passed by MSU then? I know a lot of Michigan grads leave can this be because they simply want to leave? I've heard a UM degree gets you a job at any top firm in Michigan (if they're hiring of course).

Wayne State has a lot of alums in Detroit, but MSU is the better law school. MSU is very generous with scholarships.

Despite MSU's higher USNWR ranking, I believe MSU and Wayne are equals for Detroit. MSU's law school has not been around very long (although they technically took over the Detroit College of Law). Both of these schools are much better than Detroit-Mercy and Cooley (do not even apply to these schools). Obviously UM is going to be your best bet so study hard for the LSAT. If you don't do well in June, try again in October.

Thankfor all the replies. I'm not even wasting my time with Mercy or Cooley trus me I know way too many grads with too much debt and no job. I've come to the conclusion it's UM or othe T-14 or Wayne or MSU with big schollies or take a job as a paralegal haha. Thanks again folks for the responses

Pretty much. Though Wayne has a big alumni network due to how long it's been there, MSU has a hugely loyal undergrad alumni base as well. They're essentially peers. Neither is worth anything close to sticker price.
