Ohio State v. University of Illinois
Considering the cost of attendance as the same, which one should I choose?
Currently I am an undergraduate at Ohio State. I grew to like Columbus quite a bit, but do not have many meaningful ties here. Also I am not comfortable with the idea of spending the rest of my life in Ohio.
At this point I am not completely sure in which field I would like to practice in the future.
I would love to hear your advice and opinions.
Thanks for your input! =)

Field of law is not as important as where you intend to practice law location-wise.
What are the total COAs for each law school ?

Unless you have strong geographic preferences, Illinois should win by miles and miles. New ranking aside, Illinois places infinitely better than does Ohio State. As others will say, though, neither is a good bet at sticker...

This. It's very hard to (1) work in the field of law and (2) be mobile. The only easy ways to really accomplish that are to either work as an in-house lawyer for a company with multiple offices in different states or to join a firm with offices in different states and you take the bar in more than one of those states. The Rover wrote:Are you comfortable with the idea of spending the rest of your life in Illinois?

Exactly. I'd chose U or I only if you'd be happy even if you didn't end up in Chicago. If you'd be happy elsewhere in Illinois, go for it.The Rover wrote:lansip wrote:Also I am not comfortable with the idea of spending the rest of my life in Ohio./quote]

Depends on the price tag.
