Opinions?

So, choices are between a full scholarship at Hofstra, 15K at BLS (which I don't think makes sense), already passed on Penn State (60k) and I doubt I'll hear back from BU's waitlist.
I've checked the list of application deadlines, and I see McGeorge in CA is due soon, I love the idea of leaving NY, and regret not having applied to west coast schools when I initially sent out apps. Should I stick with Hofstra, or is McGeorge an ok option (if i receive money)

What are your numbers? Would you be open to applying next year?

3.75 UGPA .. 161 LSAT,, I don't want to retake, I'm not a good tester apparently, tried a second time, canceled,, i'd been scoring in the 170s on practice tests, i doubt retaking again will help me. I'm (quasi) content with my mediocre grade

I know nothing of these schools but if you had to chose one, I'd chose one with full and complete scholarship as only thing you would potentially waste if you don't get a job is 3 yrs of your life. Honestly, the free ride may not be bad at all if you are aware of the type of work that would be available to you

You should have better options based on your numbers (161/3.75). Did you apply elsewhere ? Any rejections ?

Accepted to Cardozos May program, but that offers no merit scholarship, so I passed. Rejected from Fordham. Accepted to George Mason with 10k. And wait-listed at BU.

A poster (non-URM) on lawschoolnumbers.com with your same numbers (161/3.75) had these results: (Acceptances)

Seton Hall $105,000

Penn State $60,000

Additionally, SMU, Houston, Illinois & Iowa (among many others) would likely accept you. Of course, where you apply outside of the very top law schools depends upon where you want to live & work after law school.

I don't know much about Hofstra, but if it works for your career goals, then a full tuition scholarship close to home is worth serious consideration. But a 161/3.75 is attractive to many Tier One (Top 50) law schools.

Any stipulations on that Hofstra scholarship? Even if no I think the COL + opportunity costs are too high to justify Hofstra, but it'd be even more evident if you have to maintain some GPA.

Of the options you listed, full scholly is the best, because it's free (Brooklyn has better employment prospects, but isn't worth the price difference
You really should consider retaking.
Note: I've never heard of McGeorge, so I don't know if they're worth anything (but seeing as I've never heard of em, I doubt it). Are you sure their application deadline hasn't passed? That sounds very TTTTT to me. Is it accredited?
