Does Size Matter?

What effect does the size of a school have on its value? Dean Richard Revesz at NYU ran with the "bigger is better" theme at ASW. What does that mean for schools like Stanford and Chicago on the one hand, and on the other Harvard, Georgetown, and NYU? How important is an alumni network? Are smaller schools constrained in their diversity/breadth of classes? Is a small, tightly-knit community preferable, or is the "small city" approach more dynamic? I'm curious to see TLS's opinions.

Smaller class equals less competition in the marketplace for jobs.
Smaller class is much better if you want biglaw.

Bigger is not better.
All of the best big law firms have plenty of graduates from each of the T6 schools. Does having 50 alumni at a big law firm really help more than having 20?
