I'd like to end up in DC, but don't know if I want to do BigLaw, PI, or government.

facts:
Georgetown just bumped up my scholarship offer to 90k. I love DC. A lot of distractions though...and I am easily distracted. Gtown does have more lay prestige.
Michigan only offered 45k. If they'd offered more money, I'd have already deposited. I'd be most comfortable with the overall college atmosphere and housing situation in A2. But I am tired of the Midwest.

I suppose with the CoL difference between DC and A2 the debt would roughly be the same...

Thanks for the votes. Are there reasons why most of you voted for Michigan?

The $$$ will still be in Georgetown's favor, but consider the cost of living in DC vs AA when assessing the cost.

Also, there are big differences in the schools

Urban "commuter" campus that is downtown but separate from its main campus vs. a school that is part of a university town

With cost of living factored in, the difference may come down to <10 K a year. Your call, obviously, on how significant that will be to your financial plan

Chicago if you get in off the waitlist.

Georgetown because of the scholarship offer & your desire to be in DC.

Michigan because you are comfortable there & they teach good law. :D

UCal-Berkeley if you want the West Coast & are willing to pay a fortune.
