NYU sticker vs. NU 90K, public interest focus

Not a radically new topic here, but I'm interested in getting as much input as possible on this. I want to do PI work with my JD. I am aware of the difficulty in working for human/civil rights orgs, and although that is my preferred post-JD route, I can hopefully fall back on connections in DC and maybe an extra boost from my MA degree if my top choices fall through. Currently I'm deciding between NU ($90k) and NYU sticker. Any thoughts for someone hoping for a career in PI? Does NYU's focus in that area outweigh the extra 90k and pricier COL?

Compare the LRAPs for NYU and NU (I'm pretty sure NYU's is better). If you really want PI then LRAP should be one of your main concerns as it will make the amount of debt essentially a non-issue.

If you're truly committed to PI, the money is not really a concern, since you'll be in the LRAP at your school. NYU has much a much larger PI community, much broader PI offerings, and a much better LRAP.
