Cornell places a higher percentage of its graduates in NYC than does Georgetown. Nevertheless, three years in Ithaca is a very different experience than is three years in DC, so personal preference may be the deciding factor.

Cornell also places a higher percentage of its graduates in jobs, period, which, given the OP's preferences, would seem to make Cornell the clear winner.

Cornell. Seriously. Sure, living in DC might be more fun, but are you going to school to have fun, or to get a job?

Cornell. It places better in NY and I'm pretty sure there's a huge gap in COL between Ithaca and DC. Makes it an easy choice, to me at least.

For what it's worth, GULC's tuition is $5,000 less than Cornell's, so really he has a $35,000 scholarship to Georgetown. It's probably still worth it to go to Cornell, but over three years that's not an insignificant difference.

Cornell. Only reason to pick GULC would be if you're 110% set on DC.

Yeah but I'm guessing the CoL difference between Washington, D.C. and North Bumblefuck makes up for that.

Actually, law school is pretty easy and fun, you get insanely long vacations, and your family and friends think you are amazing and brilliant for no reason. Also, in my opinion, Ithaca is not as bad as some people seem to think it is. If you can't deal with living in a college town for 3 years, you should go to Georgetown, the placement difference is not that great. If you think that law school is so horrible (which it doesn't seem that you do), don't do it.

Cornell anyway, but with your stated goals, ... definitely Cornell.
