DOZO 28k/year

How much debt will i be in after graduation? Dozo says cost of living is 25k+ tuition, which sounds reasonable so that would put me at 135k no including interest. Interest should be another 26k during that time. Is 160k accurate even with a 84k scholly?

It sounds about right, but did you figure in cost of books and any mandatory school fees?
(realistically, that shouldn't make much difference. Going to law school in NY will cost approximately $200-$250k, ignoring both interest and schollarahips)
Far more important, does your schOlly come with any stipulations?

I only need to come in the top 80% to keep the scholly. Obviously if i end up at the bottom 20% at DOZO, my scholly is not the main concern at that point
That offer is pretty routine according to people with my numbers on LS#'s.com
I plan on contacting them and asking for more $$, however the way my cycle has gone, this is my best offer so far. I had an offer for 32k/yr at Brooklyn but i doubt that is going to be worth much in negotiations. Although i will try for more $$

edit- the 25k expenses listed as cost of living include books and even 2500 in misc exp

It never hurts to ask. Maybe if I withdraw my application (and scholly) at the same time?

I have begun negotiating for a scholarship, hopefully i will get some more aid. Also, i will likely be eligible for FAFSA which may help out somewhat

You know FAFSA isn't free money right?

Yea, but the FAFSA just determines your eligibility for federally subsidized student loans, at the rate of 6.8% (which isn't that great). Almost everyone going to law school gets those.

It's not some sort of advantage; you aren't getting a "deal" that will help you.

I thought that FAFSA awards need based grants to law students just as they do to undergrads, i just found that pell grants aren't awarded :|
I sent Dozo a copy of the offer i got from Brooklyn, and the dean has been pleasant to speak with so far. He told me that i should be hearing a final decision by the end of next week.

You fill out a FAFSA just to determine if you're eligible to take out loans from the government, at 6.8% interest for a Stafford Loan of up to $20,500 per year, and at 7.9% interest a GradPlus loan for anything else. Both are loans with interest. Not grants or scholarships.

I see, do these loans incur interest while we are still in school?

You are a prime example of what's wrong with this country today.
Go to Dozo, don't worry about the curve. Be the centre-piece of a New York Times article.

I understand the risks, but i don't see myself scoring much higher on the LSAT in the near future. I studied very hard for the LSAT, although i am retaking in June. I'm already in the 95th percentile, and i have been stuck at 166 for a while.
If i have a better cycle next year, my only option would be to pay sticker at a slightly better school like Fordham/Emory anyway. I'd rather take the $ and try to finish high in the class. Historically about 25% of the class gets a high paying job upon graduation, that means i would have about the same salary as someone at a better school (like fordham) and less debt, if i finish well.
