i'm in the same situation. other people on here have said vandy, if you perform well enough, can get you back to your home market. personally, though, i have no idea how true that is

Vanderbilt carries well to the Midwest for people with ties there, and it's cheaper, so I don't know why you'd go to ND.

Vandy hands down. Plus if you really like Nashville (I do to) then maybe you can get a job there and stay.

From Vanderbilt, it will probably be much easier to get a firm job in your home market or other markets you have ties than it will be to get jobs in almost all Southern markets without ties.
Yep. There are certain types of schools where this is fairly common, and Vandy is one of them. It won't bar you from returning to the Midwest, and it may open a few doors in the less parochial southern markets (maybe even Nashville if you have the grades). It also has better firm placement and is cheaper. Not really seeing much reason to go to ND here.
