Short time lurker.

I read the NLJ250 stats and it didn't look very good for Michigan, so I'd like to hear your thoughts on what kind of offer from Cornell (still waiting for scholly) would make it worth going to over Michigan, who has offered $67k.

Preferences:
1. I think I have to go to Biglaw because they can help me get work VISA.
2. If 1., then I will go to NYC. I don't want to work anywhere else.

UMich and Cornell are roughly peer schools. Cornell did better in the recent data because UMich's CSO gave bad advice to their students (telling them to bid Chicago over NYC).

If Mich is cheaper, you should easily go to Mich. I wouldn't take Cornell unless they were significantly cheaper or they were the same price and you preferred them.

Remember to look at their scholly offer AND their tuition. Cornell is like $5000 more per year.

You shouldn't worry too much about year to year fluctuations in data. Michigan is a slightly better school than Cornell, but you wouldn't be crazy to pick Cornell at equal price.

Cornel has better placement in NY, but a lot of that is self-selected. Cornell is probably worth a few thousand more than Michigan in your case (only want NY biglaw), but not a lot more.
Do you onl have a student visa? How would that affect your ability to work during the summers? Would you be able to accept an SA position?

Which country are you coming from? There may be an alternative path available

Ok thanks, I get the idea. I saw a few applicants on LSN with similar numbers (low 170s, with ~3. getting $100+ from Cornell; but I'll not worry about Cornell unless they offer so high.

Michigan unless focused on NYC employment after law school. If so, then Cornell if offered a similiar scholarship.

I would definitely go Michigan with that $67k, unless Cornell's scholly comes close AND you want NYC biglaw after school.
