Top Law Schools

All together OU will cost about 33K, Houston around 150K. Im from Oklahoma. Houston has wayyy better job numbers (82% employed at graduation compared to 48% for OU). What do I do. I'm probably retaking in June and if I do better than I'll reapply.

33k is with living? Your from Oklahoma, go to OU. I don't trust Houston's numbers either.

Houston would be my response if you aren't opposed to risk and you have to go this year. Just because of their better placement and their access to a good market. However, honestly I'd retake at least for scholly negotiations.

Houston is not worth 150k. OP, did you take into account compound interest? If not, then the figure will be even higher.

I actually won't have debt because my parents will by paying for everything, but I don't really feel like making them pay 150k. Plus I prefer OU to Houston. But Houston does seem to do better in terms of jobs

I still agree with this. Houston is not worth 150k. It feels like you're wasting an amazing opportunity (free law school) on a mediocre investment. Retake please and get into a school that has a better chance of landing you a great jerb.

Do you want to practice anywhere outside of Oklahoma? If so, don't go to OU.

Like others said, don't go to UH for 150K either. Retake.

You probably got $7-$8k a year on top of the in-state tuition to OU. Not bad, really. Houston, on the other hand, must have offered you acceptance with no scholarship yet.

Even if you aren't employed immediately upon graduating OU, keep in mind that your school basically dominates the legal market in your state, so a job opportunity should come soon if you are persistent (or heck, maybe it'll come right away if you finish decently in class rank).

So yeah...Mildly dicier prospects, but all in all OU seems like the place to go in your shoes. If you want to work in Oklahoma, then the decision is made even more obvious.

your right on the scholarship, taking into consideration that OU dominates in the state I'll probably go. Thanks for the advice
