ND 1/2 price or Georgetown Sticker?

Hi everyone,

It's starting to be that time when we all need to make some hard decisions. Mine is between ND with a $20,000/year renewable scholarship and Georgetown at sticker ($46,000+). I'm from the Midwest, so it would be nice to move out to the east coast, but I also wouldn't mind staying near my family. Georgetown is obviously the better ranked school, with better international programs and clinic (my main interest), but the thought of paying twice what I would at ND is a little frightening. Plus, who doesn't love ND football? Any advice is appreciated.

What do you want do? Where do you want to work?

(Assuming you are taking out loans to pay for these.) You should also consider that it's not just tuition, it's going to be CoL and interest too. Georgetown's going to leave you 250k+ in debt by the time you graduate and ND's going to leave you 150k+ in debt by the time you graduate. I'd say this is Georgetown over ND because I wouldn't recommend taking out more than 100-120k for ND. That being said, 250k for GULC is still very risky.

Yes, this is all loan money. I'm open to working pretty much anywhere, with Chicago, NYC, and DC being my top choices. Eventually, I would like to work for an agency such as the UNHCR, but I acknowledge that I'm likely to take a corporate/private job for a time to pay back loans. I want to focus on international and human rights law with those goals in mind.
