I feel like TLS definitely helped me make the right decisions in regards to LSAT prep (although those were my lurking days lol) and wondering your opinion on this scenario..

Negotiate with Duke bra. Otherwise I would go to NYU for that price.

Whoa! thanks for the speedy response brehs. Care to explain a lil bit? the consensus has been against NYU due to its high cost so many times that I'm unsure if the scholly will make a relevant difference. Prollllyyyy should have mentioned I wanna end up in dc...

High cost of NYU is pretty well offset by the great chance you will have at snagging an NYC big firm job. I go to NYU, and while my sample is likely a bit skewed, people this past year seemed to have their pick of great firms. Pretty easy choice given equal scholarship offers

That's because NYU is usually really stingy with merit aid, but you got a great scholarship so your situation is a bit different. Of the two, I'd pick NYU in a heartbeat, but a lot of that is just personal preference. I think you should definitely negotiate with Duke, even if you prefer NYU, though.

Additional COL isn't enough to justify Duke over NYU. While I imagine the two schools are roughly equivalent in DC, DC is a tough market to crack. And since NYU is probably stronger in NYC (where the bulk of the jobs are), you might as well go to the school that offers a better Plan B.

If Duke placed as well as NYU, it'd either be the T7 or the T5.

T5, bro. NYU is the ugly stepchild of "CCN."

Although T7 has a nice ring to it.

I'd have thought with all that rigor that you Chicago trolls wouldn't have the time to make disparaging comments about NYU in literally every thread that mentions it.

My apologies. I knew I always liked you, Dany. But then again, you do phrase it as personal preference rather than objective truth, so...

If you go to NYU, you're gonna be classmates with Yeshia. So... negotiate with Duke.

I wish Northwestern would switch with UChi to give us CNN. That always confuses me. MVP is nice, though.

No. Duke just has lower "academic reputation scores." If you go to Duke, want biglaw, get near median, you get biglaw.

True, but that can be overcome by being above the median. It's a continuum.
