Top Law Schools

So here I sit, several offers returned, and yet the decision more complicated than when I applied. I am from Kentucky and would like to be in a neighboring state, nor am I not interested in Chicago/DC. I hope my wife can find a job wherever we go to mitigate costs. W&M vs Emory vs Wake Forest vs OSU

School (Scholarship) [remaining tuition plus 12,000 cost of living] *other notes

W&M (20,000) [28,000] *includes 4k work study 6-7 hrs/wk at the library
Emory (23,000) [33,000]
Wake (36,000) [14,000] *renewable at any GPA
OSU (16,000) [27,000] *awaiting financial offer, 16k is the max expected (EDIT Received 3/13). Tuition reflects 1L OOS, 2L/3L IS

So, any thoughts?

If that's the case, then Emory or Ohio State since W&M and Wake are in the middle of fuck-all. Now that we've narrowed it down, choose where you want to work. I'd rather be in Georgia than Ohio.

I think he means since they are not in or near major metropolitan areas it may be difficult for her to find any sort of meaningful employment.

Correct. It's not exactly like jobs are falling from the sky, but at least Atlanta and Columbus have actual commerce going on.

If your wife wants to work at a year round renaissance fair however, W&M is the obvious choice.

W&M is commutable from the Hampton Roads area, which has a metropolitian area of about 1.6 million (VA Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk). I can't comment on it's legal prospects, but if you don't want to live in Williamsburg, there are other options (and the area is growing). You will need a car, not only to commute to school but to get around Hampton Roads, as the area is very spread out. Public transportation is limited.

WFU since it is the lowest cost & you are open to relocating to a non-major city. Also, if employment for your spouse is important, then the significantly lower cost of Wake Forest is important & Winston-Salem offers lots of employment opportunities.
