University of San Diego vs. Loyola University of Chicago

I'm not particularly tied to either city. Obviously San Diego has the weather while Chicago has the big city vibe. Chicago gave me $10K while San Diego offered nothing. I would be borrowing pretty heavily for both schools so the scholarship money, while important, isn't enough to completely sway my choice one way or another.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks

Both have atrocious job prospects and little geographic reach. You need to seriously reconsider dropping $200,000 for a law degree from these schools, as both are likely to lead to financial ruin. Your odds of getting a job that allows you to effectively service that debt are terrible. The Chicago and California markets are extremely oversaturated. I cannot overstate how financially irresponsible it would be to go to either school at the prices you're considering.

This investment is the biggest you will ever make. Please do some research on the legal market and on these schools. You will be glad you did.

Hopefully it won't be your largest investment ever, but I agree with the rest.

both give you a 15% or less chance at a good outcome aka biglaw/midlaw/fed gov/good clerkship/ good PI job.

IMO if you held a gun up to my head and forced me to choose I would choose San Diego. At least San Diego is warm and you can enjoy 3 years of your life and live it up. The sunshine will make you less depressed when you can't find a job. You will likely want to killself in Chicago.
