Hi guys!
I have to make a choice between these two schools: Depaul
U of Cincinnati
Depaul in an attractive city but with 2 T14'S
U of Cincinnati, a smaller market
Which school will lend me a better prospective job ?
Please help me.

TCR here is Retake.
Barring that, U of Cinci will give you better legal job prospects. Biglaw is nonexsistant from both, though.

Yeah, Cincinnati is alright if you want to stay in Cincinnati. Of course, you'll have competition from OSU and even Vanderbilt, but it's definitely the best law school in the immediate city area. It's much less competition than you'd have at Depaul, though. Cincinnati's a pretty decent mid-sized midwest city as well, but have you ever been before? Definitely visit and make sure you like it before committing because if you go, you'll almost definitely end up living there.
However, Ohio State is going to be your best bet in Ohio. Is it an option?

I'd say UC's Law College would likely give you a better outlook in Cincinnati than OSU's would. It is pretty well respected and has many alums in the area. If you wanted to practice north of Dayton though, OSU would be a much better option.

Where are you from and how much will they cost?

UC has released some pretty sobering employment statistics
--LinkRemoved--
But I imagine if you're from the area and know people, it'd be somewhat easier to land a job. It really surprises me when people who aren't from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky talk about possibly attending UC because ties mean a lot here.
That being said, I don't think Depaul would be much better.

Unfortunately OSU is not my option at least until now.
If I will have more options than these two, credit you,I will arrange a visit before I get there

I wouldn't go to DePaul without full ride. Chicago is still really soft according to lawyers in the area I've recently talked to.

Maybe I am one of them who have to surprise U
But I have only two options now....
For Depaul or Cincinnati I am totally fresh...
Hope Cincinnati will greet newcomers

What kind of career are you looking for? Biglaw at DePaul is nonexistent. Back in the day if you were top 10% and LR you could snag something...not the case anymore. If you want to work state's atty or some PI then you have a better shot, though I know people there with top 10%, etc. and are having trouble finding work. I wouldn't go absent significant monies

yikes. I'm from Cinci... It's insular. People want to know where you went to high school, who your people are, etc. I have no idea about the legal hiring there, but I can't imagine it's more open than that.

Depaul $39,000 but I got $60,000 3/year
Cincinnati $36,000 may got $5,000 a year

Surely you're not considering UC without taking up their in state rate they give to metro students, right?

Yeah, this is exactly what I'm talking about. When I interviewed at home over winter break, everywhere I went asked me which high school I went to. That matters a lot. It would be pretty hard to articulate why you want to be here when you're not from the area.

They won't. One of the most insular markets there is.

Plus COL, so add another 50-70k, depending on where you go.
Also, I'm confused by your math. If you got 60k/3 years, that will make tuition over 60k/3 years. So 60k+ in tuition plus another 60k+ for COL = 120k+ for a degree at DePaul. Cincinnati's tuition for OOS is close to 40k I believe, so assuming you can get in-state after a year you're looking at 70-80k/3 years for tuition, plus another 50-60k in COL. So a Cincinnati degree is going to cost you about 120k+ as well.
In any case, spending 120k+ for a degree from either of these schools is just financially insane.

To be honestly, I am pretty not sure.
What I hanker is just a decent job which can feed me on my feet...or a least a job
So which school can give me a better chance to shot a job goes first
It is stupid to escape a cost-benefit analysis but I still think it's not a number problem
Otherwise if Depaul gave me a full-ride, that's another case

Scarlet, you're from Cinci too?? I had no idea. But yeah, the high school thing is weird. And totally true.
But yeah, OP if you have any questions about Cinci, UC, or the area, I'll do my best to answer. I didn't go to UC, but I have lots of friends who did and know quite a bit about it.

We should have a TLS Cincy-natives group.
At all the firms and legal nonprofits I've seen, UC grads dominate, with the occasional T-14 grad thrown in. Building ties and networking during three years may help offset not being a native.
Lol'ed at 'what high school did you attend?'
