Tier 3 @ 4000 a year vs Tier 1 @ sticker
I just got offered basicallly a 7/8 tuition scholarship to Tulsa, which is ranked at 110. I've lived in Tulsa and really like the city, but I'm worried about the market there and my mobility after graduation. I've also been accepted to a top 40 in my home state, where I'd be paying about 20,000 in tution.
I know to many people this would seem like an obvious decision, but I'll be paying for law school entirely through scholarships/loans. Yes, I'm really sure I want to be a lawyer, and I just want to make the right decision for myself. If anyone has experience with this or advice I'd appreciate it!

T1 = maybe job, Tulsa = probably not job . Though with less than 20k debt probably, you won't be needing one too much. I'd not go to any of these without substantial aid and it seems you have it. Which T1 if you don't mind me asking?jenkswarrior wrote:I just got offered basicallly a 7/8 tuition scholarship to Tulsa, which is ranked at 110. find a middle ground or retake. Neither is a good option and I'm guessing the Tulsa scholly has bad stips

the T-1 is University of Utah. I feel like I'm gambling either way. Tulsa would be very little debt with very small job prospects, while Utah would be alot of debt with okay job prospects.

If you want to work in Utah, go to Utah. Sticker at Utah is mediocre (120k debt), but it isn't the worst. I would not recommend Tulsa even for free. Ideally you'd retake and at least get a scholarship to Utah.

They haven't informed me of the stipulations of the scholarship yet, I'm sure they're high. That would be the worst case scenario, losing the scholarship and ending up paying 30,000 a year at a T-3 when I could've been paying 20,000 for a much more respected, and for me easier, option.

I would say probably Utah, honestly.

For these reasons, I'd retake or don't go.bk187 wrote:If you want to work in Utah, go to Utah. Sticker at Utah is mediocre (120k debt), but it isn't the worst. I would not recommend Tulsa even for free. Ideally you'd retake and at least get a scholarship to Utah.

Really, I wouldn't mind working anywhere for five to ten years, I just don't want to be stuck in any one place forever with no chance of moving.
The overwhelming response from here and other people I've asked has been to go to Utah. I think I'm just going to go to the more prestigous school and cross my fingers for a scholarship offer in the next few weeks. Thanks everyone for your advice! I really appreciate the different perspectives.
