University of Baltimore vs. Maryland vs. Villanova

Got a 20,000 scholarship to University of Baltimore(3.25 stip, 2.86 median) earlier this week. I'm in-state and would graduate debt free assuming I keep the scholarship. I want to work in Maryland and do PI (district attorney, state or local government office, etc).

I'm stilling waiting back on University of Maryland.

25,000 per year to Nova (2.0 stip). Any chance I can use this to leverage removal of the stipulations at UB?

Any thoughts in general or insight is appreciated.

UMD owns the state of Maryland. Unless you have already have job lined up and waiting for you, don't go to Balt.

Obviously none of these schools are that great for jobs, but graduating debt free would be great. Try to get rid of the stipulation if you can, but I vote for Baltimore. This is one of the few times I would recommend going to a school like this, but if you're from Maryland and can graduate debt free, then go for it. You'll face an uphill battle for jobs, but it's not like you're gunning for private work. You're going to want to brand yourself very early on as a government person the second you get there. Network hard, take classes oriented towards this type of work, and work in something government-oriented your 1L summer to make your resume scream government.

Follow Romo's plan, then get dinged for government work because a UMD grad followed the exact same plan as you, except unlike you, she went to the highest ranked school in the state that also happens to be a T1. There aren't that many jobs in Maryland to begin with and there are also plenty of people who know they want to work in government right out of the gate. Give yourself a fighting chance. In-state tuition is reasonable and you'd be graduating with less debt than the majority of your peers.

If the choice comes down to Nova vs Balt,, which would you pick? I think the right choice, and what most people on here would pick, would be Balt, unless you have ties to Philly.

I applied for the public interest full ride scholarship to Villanova. If I don't get it, and I'm going to law school next year then probably Balt.
