I don't mind either location. I am more concerned with employment. Indiana ranks higher but everyone trashes it for their employment record but W&L is not a BigLaw heavy hitter either.

Dude, neither of them are going to get you biglaw. I would probably go to W&L just because of how awful IU's employment stats are.

The question isn't whether you mind living in either place, it's where you have plausible ties to. If you aren't from either location, why these schools?

I noticed from your previous posts that you have a 4.0 and 164. If that is the case, I would wait next year and ED to UVA. UVA has a much better chance at biglaw/midlaw/clerkships than WL or IU.

If you had to choose from the two schools, I would choose WL. You will still need top 20% or better to get a good jobfrom WL. However, with that said, even though it is great that you are getting a full ride from WL, what would you have accomplished with 30kdebt 3 years of your life for a job earning less than 40k?

Yes it is true that UVA will require you to take 150k in debt. However, at WL there is a high chance that you woudln't be in the top 20% lucky enough to get a biglaw job. Even if you fail at UVA, with IBR limited to 10% of your income 10% of 40k is only 4k a year for 20 years. The downside at UVA is only slightly lower than at Wash Lee. However, UVA's placement is 2-3x as good as WL.

And this.

Oh and this...

People with 4.0s should never go outside the T10, maybe T6. Please don't go this year.

I totally agree that a retake is the most sensible option. I kinda don't want to miss a year though but I am really leaning towards that retake now.

So many people would kill for that 4.0 but can't do anything to fix it at this point. Even adding something as little as 3 or 4 points would give you a fantastic shot at the T14, possibly with some money.

Just retake. You're losing nothing by taking a year off. Nobody has to go to law school right away.
