Top Law Schools

So far I've gotten into U Pitt, Rutgers-Newark (10k/yr scholly), Temple, and St. Johns (40k/yr scholly) and I am waiting to hear from Dozo, Case and UConn.

My goal is to work in NYC in the private sector. Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards Rutgers atm.

Rutgers is better for Jersey, but a hell of a lot cheaper than Dozo.

I say for St. Johns with a nice scholly like that.

I'm a Temple 2L, and Temple sure as hell isn't going to get you to NY. I'm sure the same is true for Pitt.

None of those schools give you a chance in NYC, assuming by private sector you mean a firm paying market rate. You should either retake or go wherever you can attend for free.

If you qualify for in-state at Temple, go to Temple and rest assured that you'll succeed in Philadelphia in far more ways than you ever could have in NYC at this level. If you don't qualify for in-state there, go to Rutgers-Newark and make a push for NYC...but be content with Newark/North Jersey.

I'm not so sure the Temple advice is solid. The job situation is pretty bad here. Even with in-state tuition plus the cost of living here, the debt could be substantial. I sometimes see people on this site say that top 10-15% from Temple/Nova is Philly big law secure, especially with law review. It isn't true. Believe me.
