I have a full ride to UConn vs sticker at W&L. Both have programs that I would like to study and like would be fine settling down in either area. I am married, so finding work, friends, and, eventually, a doctoral program for her are important.

Did you really get nothing from W&L with those stats? Maybe try to negotiate some money from them. I would imagine that they would give you at least something.

UConn. Not only do you have full ride at UConn, I would imagine that UConn's standing in CT beats W&L's standing in VA. There are only 3 law schools in CT, and Yale grads flock to NYC or DC, so UConn only competes with Quinnipiac (and perhaps Western New England Law) in CT market.

Purple Pirate,
Would "something" even be worth it? Realistically, we are only talking $5,000 to $15,000 per year, right? That would still leave $80,000 to $120,000 in debt.
There are things that I like about both schools.

You're right, you still would have a good amount of debt left over after. However, you were asking between the two. I was just pointing out an aspect that may ease that burden for you a bit. No matter how small, it would still be a better option comparitively to W&L at sticker.
If you have the luxury of a full-ride to somewhere you would be happy graduating from, then by all means go for it. I think many of us would like to have that option.

UConn with a full tuition scholarship is the better choice.

I was at about 85% UConn myself. I figured TLS wisdom would say "take the higher ranking."

True, but that only counts if the higher ranking is T14.

Or the money's similar. But SUCO's absolutely right. Once you get outside the T14 it very, very quickly becomes more about location and money than about ranking. I mean, neither has a good portability, which you aren't too concerned about anyway, neither has an advantage when it comes to BigLaw, both are in places you'd like to practice and will probably afford you similar opportunities in those areas, and after cost of living one is about 20% as expensive as the other. I mean, I'd take a 2011 car over a 2010 car if they were both $10,000, but I'd buy a 2010 car for $10,000 instead of a 2011 model for $50,000. Or, insert your own analogy or whatnot.

I'd appreciate some feedback from the silent minority.
