Is it worth it? I been doing a lot of research and there has been mixed opinions regarding Fordham about big law. Do a lot of Fordham graduates generally go on and do
big law in new york? Or is it rare?

I've heard that it's basically 50/50 and that a lot of the class ends up in not the best situation

50/50? Not even close ITE. More like 25%-30%.

25-30 to be generous.

Really? LST indicates that 55% is Art III + 160K
ETA: I think I misread it, but it still seems like it's higher than 30%

Meh, I think 25-30 is accurate. Fordham still is pretty strong for a non-t14. I don't think they place less than 25%.

Fordham is strong for a non-T14, but that's obviously a relative statement. Non-T14s are weak for BigLaw hiring in general ITE. 20% would be strong placement for a non-T14 right now.

That's for the graduating class of 2009 which was doing OCI in 2007 at the very peak of the hiring bubble. The class that got crushed the worst at OCI was class of 2011 (followed by my class, 2012), and the class that got killed with no-offers was the class of 2010.
Wait one more year. It's not going to be
anywhere close to 50/50.

OCI this year at Fordham was apparently a lot better than last year's as well. Supposedly last year there were about 25% of the class that had a market firm job lined up for their 2L summer associate position by the end of 2L year (so this year's 3L's), this year that number has already been surpassed.

Taking into account debt and career prospects, would Fordham Law be preferable over a school like Rutgers (in-state tuition, plus 10k+ scholly)? For the sake of this example, let's say its Fordham at sticker. I don't know how they are with $$$, and whether someone in my situation would be even be considered for it

(It is 2006)

Maybe I am not reading the LST stats correctly, but I'm seeing just under 25% employed full time at firms with 500+ attorneys.
Is it safe to assume that this 1/4 in large firm jobs are almost exclusively in big law?

A firm with 500 or more attorneys can be safely considered to be big law, yes.
However it's becoming increasingly dangerous to assume that being employed full time at a 500+ lawyer firm means a market-paying job, as opposed to a "staff attorney" position that pays $60K. At one top 35 law school nearly half of the 2012 grads listed as having jobs with big firms are actually staff attorneys in Dayton and Wheeling. (Can't say which but caveat emptor).

Realistically, you need to be top 1/3 to have any real chance. A little over 20% get bigkaw, and approximately 25% get biglaw + fed clerkship

As a side note, ~1/2 of the class of 2014 evening students who worked full time throughout school got big law, and 1/4 didn't look for it...

Are you sure that's right?
That would mean that approximately 1/3 of all biglaw jobs from Fordham were taken by evening students
Math:
Roughly 470 students total per incoming year (full+part time). Approximately 20-22% biglaw, means roughly 100 biglaw jobs
Roughly 70 part time students, so 35 getting biglaw

If that's true, I suppose the additional work experience the part timers are able to accrue is extremely valuable to employers.
