UCLA's Employment Prospects (BigLaw)

I just wanted to know what were you guys thoughts on making it to BigLaw coming out of UCLA. Moreso, the NY market.

possible, but not easy. if you really want NY, go to Cornell or take the $/$$ at BU/BC or Fordham.

If going to a regional school, go to one that places in the region you want.

There is one location I am aware of for credible data on this point. Its odd to me that "Goto LSN or LSP" is such a mantra but people rarely say "look at NLJ250 report for a basic picture"
NLJ says UCLA is ranked 14th in terms of big law placement. with 35 percent of the class getting big law.
Assuming some of the best in the class don't want big law this definitely doesnt mean only 35 percent can get BL, so use that data as you wish.
In terms of being regional v national--and in terms of UCLA NY prospects, im not sure what to advice. I do know that NLJ says
FORDHAM 26%
BU 35%
BC 30%
Looking at this it seems like people are right that taking an eastcoast school would be a better bet--if NYC placement was your only concern.
