I wonder what their QOL determination is based on. I can think of literally dozens of schools more appealing than Duke in that regard.

I think a lot of the more subjective categories are based on student surveys.

Oh, here:
Best Quality of Life - Based on student answers to survey questions on: whether there is a strong sense of community at the school, how aesthetically pleasing the school is, the location of the school, the quality of social life at the school, the school's classroom facilities, and the library staff
Duke students are apparently really satisfied with themselves. The entire QOL top 10 is made up of schools in objectively cool places (Chicago, Denver, California) and southern schools.

Duke
UVA
Chapman
Vandy
NU
Colorado
Memphis
Samford
Denver
Stanford

I'll just point out, Hawaii being at the top of the Environment for Minority Students list is HIGHLY misleading. I don't really want to turn this into a discussion of racial relations in the islands, but I am sure that has more to do with the relative racial percentages in the area than any actual tolerance toward all races.

Same goes for UNM actually.

Yeah, I was going to say, Hawaii's numbers are almost certainly skewed highly by the native Hawaiian population. I don't know that it would be any better or worse of a school than the average for non-native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (/Asian?) people.

Also, I love that 7 out the 10 most competitive schools are TTTTs. Cooley should add this to their rankings. They're #1 among TTTT schools!

Makes you wonder wtf is going on at Baylor, BYU and Hastings that make their students as cutthroat as the mostly-doomed Cooley and Nova students.
