What T3 and T4 law schools offer full rides?

I was wondering what T3/T4 law schools are known to offer full rides? I took the LSAT yesterday and my PT scores averaged around 167, 168, but I think I bombed the first LR (didn't have my focus for some reason) and I expect closer to the lower 160's now.

I can check TLS stats for the top 100, but I'm finding it hard to see what the lower ranked schools do. Also, before everyone says to avoid the T3/T4 schools like the plague, my law school prestige has almost nothing to do with whether I will get a job or not. Just me knowing the law will be enough. Thanks for any information.

All of them do. If you have the right numbers.

Full rides are rare in law school; many law schools, however, offer full tuition & fees scholarships. Michigan State, for example, is one. In Tier One, SMU does offer full rides but the scholarships are reserved for residents of certain neighboring states.

P.S. No need to venture into the bottom two tiers of law schools if you score in the 160s.

Sorry not to clarify when I meant full rides, but I did indeed mean full tuition. I understand the living costs, but fortunately I have a generous father who would probably be willing to cover most of my living costs while I go to law school.

Kahechsof, are you sure all of them do if you have the right numbers? My numbers (3.41, probable low 160's LSAT) would probably net me full tuition most of them I would think. But I thought law school full tuition scholarships were very dependent on how generous that school was at giving scholarships. For example, a T4 might not give me one because they're stingy, but a T3 would because they're more generous. That is why I want to narrow down a list of who to apply to.

SMU was actually one of the schools (along with Baylor) I was hoping to maybe get a scholarship to, especially because I'm from Texas. Unfortunately, my LSAT mess up has ruined this. But again, prestige really isn't that big of factor because I will work in the sports industry. My network is what is important, which is already established.

Texas Tech may still award full tuition scholarships to high 150s & low 160s. Stetson looks for low 160s. Many Tier Three law schools do award full tuition scholarships, but not all. Avoid Tier Four law schools even if offered a full tuition scholarship unless special circumstances exist in your situation.
lawschoolnumbers.com may help.

P.S. Although all law schools use the same casebooks as there are only a few law school casebook publishers, you will get a very different quality of education at TTT & TTTT law schools due to the quality of the students which affects the learning experience.

Lawschoolnumbers.com was a huge help. Thanks for that.

There are actually a few TTTT law schools that I'd consider due to their proximity to where I could possibly work, but I think you're right, I really shouldn't dip into TTTT besides for that.

I guess I should just wait until my LSAT comes back and then make the decision from there. Also, I have a law fair coming up on Tuesday, so I may go asking around there as well.

SIU -carbondale, IL

158+ = 1/2 tuition
161+ = free tuition

I had a 164 and obviously had other options but I can't be more happy with my decision. If you have any questions about the school let me know...

One of the assistant state's attorneys I intern with attended SIU Law with a 158 and received a half tuition scholarship. 161 and above for full tuition sounds about right as well.

I'm not sure if this is true. I had a high 3.XX/low 16X and they only offered $12k a year after negotiating. Unless you are URM I don't think they will give a full ride with a high 150/ low 160.

Unless you have a job offer in writing that states you need only receive a JD from ANYWHERE, never count on a job ITE. Going to a TTT/TTTT just because you're too lazy to retake when you know damn well you can do better is stupid.

good to hear. You should be looking for half ride or better at the 15-20 range or full ride in the 20s and 30s

Brooklyn Law School gave me a full ride at 164, and they're a decent T2.

not really. BLS with a full ride isn't the worst decision in the world. I mean, you'll still end up with 60K in debt from COL in Brooklyn/Manhattan, but the school isn't completely horrible

true but i wouldn't give up 3 years of my life for a <10% chance at market salary legal employment and IIRC c/o 2011 had like 45% FT, bar required employment
