hofstra with 25k or seton hall 15k

Neither. If you absolutely have to go, Hofstra, but I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to go there.

OP, where do you want to work? If you want to work in Long Island, then Hofstra. If Jersey, then Seton Hall. Although, if you get into SH, you most likely have at least a decent shot at Rutgers which has in state tuition. I personally would go SH (if you don't take the standard retake/reapply route), for the simple reason they place relatively well in New Jersey, while Hofstra is in a loaded region. Check out lawschooltransparency.com and compare the two schools. Again, though you're probably better off going to Rutgers for the instate tuition, if you want to work in Jersey.

also keep in mind that you can appeal your scholarships. i appealed last year at one of these schools and they added an extra $5k. to do so, you should probably speak in person to someone in admissions. just chat. tell them that you are very interested in the school but still considering other schools. ask to whom you can address a letter re:scholarship appeal. send the letter to that person (i did so by attaching a word doc to an email). in the letter, just repeat the same basic things you did in your convo. do NOT make it an ultimatum, such as "if you increase my scholarship, i will sign the papers today!" be very polite and respectful, and they will probably throw $5-10k extra your way.

None of the above. Even if you get to the keep the scholarships and do modestly well in law school, you are still very unlikely to find a job that will allow to pay your debt bills. Don't make the same mistake that countless of unemployed/underemployed lawyers have done in the recent past.

Retake/reapply or don't go.

Depends on where you want to work. If you apply on the very first day of applications in September, you COULD get Cornell with those numbers. BC/BU/GW/Fordham are all likely with some money at a few of them. I'd imagine you want NYC since your two previous schools were in the NYC area.

i would be willing to look at other areas, what other schools would be in my range?

Notre Dame, Illinois, WUSTL, Minnesota, Emory, W&M, W&L...

Very slim, but nonzero I suppose. If you were willing to do PT then a little better. I wouldn't recommend GULC sticker though. Check out my LSN profile in my profile on here, I had pretty similar numbers.

Just personal preference, I did not want to attend BU.

i live in brooklyn ny so i would be livign at home and saving about 20 k but its stil la boatload of money

Haha no sir. 'Well' might be slightly optimistic on my part, but the school does decent in Jersey. 18% of '09 class made over 95k, plus 5% got Article III clerkship. 88% got full-time jobs, 85% had jobs that required a JD. I think those are pretty decent numbers for a T2. Are they great? No, not by any stretch of the imagination. But you could do much worse. Either way my advice was to retake/reapply or go to Rutgers for the in state tuition if the OP was from Jersey.

Well it depends where you want to work if it is long island than hofstra and if it is is jersey than the other

And these are only the 2009 numbers. The real situation on the ground is even more gruesome. The "demand" for new lawyers outside the tiny handful of Top 14/biglaw type gigs is far south of zero.
