So I was just offered a spot off the waitlist at UT with a 7k scholarship in state. Is it worth walking away from a 75k scholly at Bama? Any advice would be great!

Can you please tell us about your careers goals, where you want to live, etc?

I'm not into biglaw.I like the IDEA of public interest work just not sure about the financial security. I'm looking at the possibility of JAG. Hopefully the experience would give me that added buffer to decide what field I'd really love to work in.

I'm still inclined to say Texas unless you have no times to Birmingham and really want to work in Birmingham

I think Texas just because it would open more doors for you and the in-state has to make it pretty worthwhile. I've heard good things about Bama but idk if it could trump Texas for Texas. I'd check the LRAP at Texas just to make sure that a public interest job won't screw you over if you ever don't qualify for IBR for some reason.

COA for BAMA would be ~75k out of pocket, ~110k for Texas

Unless you are determined to work in Alabama, Texas is the better choice since the COA difference is so small.

+1. Texas far and away the choice here.
