Any current/recent CUNY students out there? Forum

I know it's a longshot on boards like these, but I'm looking at CUNY as a dark horse school and am curious to hear testimonials from anyone who's been there. Public interest is what I want to do more or less exclusively, and the cost is very appealing. I have ties to Queens and would be able to cut down the COL significantly by living with family.

My primary hesitations are with prestige (I don't care, but if employers care, then I have to too) and uncertainty about the overall environment. I've read that it's a nontraditional school, but obviously that means different things to different people. If anyone could weigh in I'd appreciate it.
