Defer vs WD & reapply

Got into a T30 school in target market with $$. Unfortunately, can't attend this year though due to my wife's career. When I applied this school was sort of a long shot so I was excited to get in, even more so when I received $$. I've visited and am as certain as I can be that I want to attend. If I defer, it's binding, I will be reevaluated for scholarships (although they've said students often get the same offer), and if I rewrite the LSAT it will be taken into consideration when scholarship time comes. I am risk-adverse and the WD & reapply route scares me, in the event my cycle next year doesn't go as well as this year did. However, I am also worried that the school will have far less incentive to award me scholarships if I'm already in a binding agreement with them.
