Appalachian, Liberty & Regent are not ranked.

I understand that those are the US news rankings but I meant more from the perspective of the region as rankings are not everything...for instance I know that UVA grads dont usually stay in the state because theyre headed to big law

For inability to leave the state of Virginia, just reverse the USNews rankings.

If you're wanting to work in the state of Virginia -barring a UVA acceptance - W&M is probably the place to go, though Richmond's rep in Richmond is VERY strong

Keep in mind how close you are to DC which has a lot of good schools and people who want to work in Northern Virginia and who do wind up in the main markets in the state.

Northern VA has like 3 of the 10 richest counties in the country in terms of average household income.
