Is it worth the extra 30K in DEB T?!?!

Accepted to both schools. Was just pulled off the WL at W&M. I like the Mid Atlantic and might possibly like NC. I am looking for the school that opens the most doors. Does W&M place in DC at all?
Which would you choose?

W&M is a better school than WF but the difference isn't large. It also has better DC placement from what I've seen and heard. I would go to W&M based on location and in my opinion, better reputation.

I thought W&M struggled to place in DC?
Still, I would imagine you'd have a better shot than at WF. But I'd sooner save 30 grand.

If you like NC then Wake all the way. W&M's DC placement, while better than WF, is pretty horrible.

+1.
I like my minnesotan winters, but the Carolinas are awesome. Go spend some time in the outer banks and you'll never want to leave.

It seems that the conventional wisdom is that everyone outside the T-14 & GW place poorly in DC. Even local schools such as GMU and American would require top grades to obtain a high paying job in DC and that is with the opportunities going to school in DC gives you with internships and networking. So with that idea, W&M will place some kids into DC because it is a good school but it will be tough and chances are it will not get you there...

W&M does place into DC with good grades. Still much easier from a comparable place like GW. If you can commit to NC then go Wake. W&M more mobile though. TBH you can't really depend on mobility too much at either school unless you are towards the top of your class.

W&M and Jeedub aren't comparable.

I meant comparable in terms of the numbers that get you in. Which they are. In what sense are you talking about?

Gotcha, I meant in overall rankings/prestige/placement although Jeedub is slightly harder to get in than W&M.

Ok, so is GW > W&M in terms of placement?
(OP, sorry to hijack your thread, but I'm curious)

Yeah, better placement for DC and NY. W&M only places better for VA firms.

The difference in what you'd be borrowing isn't that much. Go to whichever school you like better (campus, culture, location, etc.).

Would finishing in the top 15% at either place give me a shot at DC?

More like the top 5-10% required for biglaw from WM/WF. Really want to be law review in the top of the class though.
