80k for a 40/hr week job? Definitely go with that option. Many lawyers would kill for that salary, and they would be working longer hours and likely have debt.

Stay for a few years, gain great experience, and CU will still be there. CU is a terrific school, but you might be able to save some significant money living on that salary in CO (I saved money even living on 30k in Denver), and CU won't be going anywhere in the minds of Denver firms.

Assuming that your expectations are realistic, then stay at your job. With a 3.75 GPA, consider retaking the LSAT to raise your LSAT score of 160 to increase your chances for scholarship money in a year or two if you still want to attend law school.

At the rate you are being promoted this job > law school. Many people would kill to get in at the ground floor of a successful startup. Think about where the company could be - and where you could be - 5 years from now.

Need a little more info OP. Do you enjoy what you do and are you realistic about your expectations coming out of CU?
The only way I would vote for CU is if you really dont enjoy what you do and know that you want law. If you can't say that don't take out that much money for school.
That being said I don't think it's as easy as you can make x $$ and that is better than y.
If you hate or don't enjoy what you are doing who cares how much $$ you make. That's exactly why I'm going to law school. I have a high paying job but I hate it. I've researched law school, talked to lawyers and know this is what I want. So although it's IMO not as cut and dry you have to answer some questions first.

This. Law school will still be there and you'll be better prepared - financially and perhaps mentally (as in, you'll know if that's really what you want to do.) Congrats on the promotion!

Defer for a year. Take the job and save some money. If you decide you hate it- CU will be there next year. IF you really like it- then see how it plays out. Make sure that law school is waht you want- then go get it. While you are working use the time to do some sould searching- and once you've decided what it is you want from this life, go get it. Congrats on the job.

There are some negative aspects associated with beginning your career with a startup that can present themselves down the road. However, based on the little bit of information provided I think it would be prudent to stick with this job for at least a little while.
