given those factors wustl (with 60k total over three years) or gwu at sticker?

What do you mean by international law? I ask only because the term can be referencing (very) different fields. Are you thinking work at the state dept, work on human rights with NGOs and non-profits, public international law, or international mergers & acquisition, or international arbitration, etc. etc. ?

Please don't rest your decision on this factor. I plead with you. Take it from a GW student who has (a) taken international law classes and (b) NOT paid sticker. You're not going to be practicing something called "international law" right out of school, nor do you need a specialization to do so. Just go to WUSTL, take the money, get your JD, and THEN you can think about being a prosecutor at the ICC. K?
End thread.

WUSTL so when you don't get a job in your largely mythical field, you will have less debt.

I would say go to GW if your SO is for the long haul, absent this I would go to Washu for the money. Recently decided on UIUC over GW with $$$ for each because i didn't like the feel during the ASD.
More than the large class size I felt like the place was not focused on individual students but rather on itself and with work exp and connects to dc you can get back.
Thats me talking out of both sides of my mouth I think, wouldn't pay sticker at GW in any scenario though depends on your financial security.
I don't have any interest in getting into the international law doesn't exist on TLS but....

Fixed to reflect reality.

Not sure which is more annoying/inaccurate, people who think international law = James Bond, or people who categorically deny its existence.

Probably, 0Ls who use the word "categorically" in discussing something they know nothing about.
Queue response full of impotent rage.

I don't know if this will have any bearing on your decision, but GWU's latest stats indicate that 0% of graduates got "foreign" jobs (
http://www.law.gwu.edu/Careers/prospect ... stics.aspx). I guess you could be going for a domestic job in international law, so take that with a grain of salt.
Full disclosure: I sent in my deposit to GWU. Come join us! I don't know what the above poster disliked about the "feel" of the school, but the "feel" of DC is awesome.

GW.
Jobs in this field are acquired primarily through contacts. You will have the opportunity to build those in DC. You won't in St. Louis.

With the added bonus of accumulating a hilarious mound of debt while you're at it.

Don't go. Reconsider what degree you want/need to pursue your ambition, or if you can do an internship instead. You can always revisit law school later, with an LSAT that can get you into a school that will actually open doors.
GWU is way too expensive & unless you have a strong network already, opportunities are too few for it to help. If you already have a strong network, you shouldn't have to go to law school (or you can go someplace like Mason for a lot less money).
WUSTL is cheaper, but it's going to be very hard to get a job you like in a place you want to live. So, why bother going?
Sometimes none of the above is the right answer. Life is long, and you can put off going to law school.

That mound of debt would still be very large with 20k a year from WUSTL. As the other poster said, maybe the real answer is "don't go." What is GW's LRAP like?
