Ok.... this is an update of an earlier post. My stats are 2.6 (slacker in college)/153 (Dec) 160 (feb). Im not going to retake or apply next year so don't waste your time on those posts. Also dont be a t14 elitist (i get it, you are going to a better school than I am) and tell me to not go to law school, obviously if ive been on this site for any time i am sufficiently terrified and have weighed the pro's and con's of law school carefully. Here is my situation, ive essentially narrowed my choice to two cities, Minneapolis and Chicago and these schools specifically.
UST- 15k Scholly with good academic standing
Wm- 30% scholly with 2.6
Hamline- 50% scholly (not going to go here)
Depaul- 8k with 3.2
Loyola - waitlist
Kent- Deffered
Marquette- Pending
I want to live in chicago, but i am wondering at what cost. I have lived in minneapolis before and like it, but i think i would rather be in chicago now. I understand debt is a HUGE deal and the thought of going to depaul with 8k, or God forbid going to loyola or kent and attend at sticker is scary. I feel in minneapolis, going to UST or WM, i would be a medium fish in a medium sized pond. In chicago with any of my three legit options i feel i would be a medium fish in a huge pond. If you have something constructive to say i would really appreciate hearing it. Im starting to tweak about this decision. Lets just say for the sake of argument (a long shot with my stats i know) that i get into loyola or Kent and go at sticker...whatya think??

Regarding the 3 Chicago schools, I think there all about equal as far as reputation in the city goes, have you visited any of the schools and gotten a feel for them? It sounds like you want to be in Chicago and I think the choice between those 3 schools at basically the same price should be made by determining which one you feel most comfortable at.

Taking a T2 at sticker is beyond rough, but I guess Loyola is your best option if you're cool with 180k debt and 10% chance at NLJ250.

Looking at Trial work/criminal defense or possibly securities law. Havent visited any yet. I know facilities are a factor but to be honest i think i am doing myself a disservice if i pick a school based on their facilities, in three years who cares what the building was like?

Unless his goals are to be in massive debt and un/under-employed, then none of these schools are good options.

The EIC of the Kent law review couldn't even get a job. There are just too many schools in Chicago, and too many schools that feed into Chicago. And the Chicago market sucks anyways.

The Kent EIC is now at Kirkland and Ellis:
