I am completely torn now.... I visited Syracuse and Penn State this week and I really love the programs at cuse with the national security law and the JD/MPA program. Syracuse and OSU are great in the sense that you can get a JD/MPA for same price and time as your JD. I do however have some concerns about the downward trend of Cuse law program and there facilities arnt amazing (they get a new law school in 2014). Penn state was beautiful but I have not found a curriculum that I was especially excited abou but I do love the amazing upward trend of there program ( same with FSU)t. Now I am weighing all my top options again just when I thought I had it all figured out. I love that OSU also has a 3 yrs jd/mpa and I am amazed by FSU new trial advocacy building and its upward trend as well. Please give some input. Keep in mind I have a commitment to the USMC Jag program after law school so job placement is not a huge concern.

Syraucse 33k a yr (JD/MPA)
PSU 20k yr (JD)
OSU sticker (JD/MPA)
FSU 3,5000 yr ( JD maybe JD/MPA depending on timing and cost of program)

Also, does admission to the law school include admission to Maxwell ? Will they accept the LSAT in lieu of the GRE or GMAT ?

Maxwell is very tough to get into but being in the law program helps alot. They really examine the resumes tough and want to make sure you will use your degree for public service.

If it is much easier for cuse law student to get into maxwell, then I will say go with Cuse.

They are paying for his law school I believe, I thought about this option.

I would love to go to OSU if they come through with some money. Just hate the direction SU law is going in the rankings and I love the way FSU and PSU are going

If you are truly want to do research and publish, then the name Maxwell goes a long way. But I don't think it will help you getting a good firm job.

I am not looking to publish I am just looking for good options both government and law if i chose to leave the USMC

FSU! (actually, you should really consider (i) what region you want to live in after graduation/jag, and (ii) how much debt you will incur)

As for my experience, FSU was awesome.

FSU was looking great but with their in and out of state tuition rising by 15 percent it really made the decision for me

Where do you want to be after your jag time is up? I would say OSU is a better choice of all of them, closely followed by FSU. I would take Cuse off the list because you dont like the campus. When in doubt go with your gut.

See thats just the thing it is so hard to try to thing like 7-10 yrs down the line for when I get out of JAG. I have no clue where I want to work. I am from NY but I have worked in DC and loved it so I really have no clue. I do know I like the national security law program at cuse, I love the upside at fsu and psu and OSU is an amazing school that I would go to in a heartbeat if they gave me a scholarship... SO I am still on the fence
