Want biglaw. Would consider clerkship first.
Duke is 35k more than UT-Austin.
Which to choose?

There has to be a few more factors other than biglaw that can help you narrow this down a bit.

Unless you know or are pretty sure you don't want to end up in TX, I vote UT. $35k is almost an extra year's worth of tuition, and UT is actually pretty strong clerkship-wise from what I recall.
I would be interested to see exactly how the two schools stack up in terms of clerkships.
If you are gunning for NY or some other particular market that would be tougher to crack coming from UT, I think it might make more sense to bite the extra $35k bullet and give yourself a better chance by going to Duke.

Id be fine working anywhere. Preferred markets: DC (1), TX (2), CA (3), ATL (4) Less interested in CHI, NYC, PHI, BOS...would not want to be in anywhere classified as the Deep South (with the exception of Atlanta; would hate LA, AL, MI, SC), would be okay in Florida or North Carolina though
what other info is needed?

Why did you use an alt for the original post?

What happened to GULC? If you want DC I'd think that might be something to consider. Other than that I'd take Texas over Duke if you don't care about NY. I don't think either of them lend to getting you into DC or CA particularly.
