W&M vs. Maryland

Based on my scholarships at both schools and each schools' listed cost of attendance, my overall COA at both schools is almost exactly equal. Help me choose which to attend! I'm interested in pursuing public interest law in DC post-graduation.

W&M:
- pros - my "first love" in terms of law schools, great community, higher ranked
- cons - distance from DC (my SO, friends, and general network are all there), limited availability of clinics and externships in Williamsburg

Maryland
- pros - strong public interest program, clinical offerings, proximity to DC
- cons - lower ranked, urban campus, less of a community

Thanks!

I think W&M has a public interest focus, good placement in DC, is your dream school and higher ranked. I think W&M has a better shot at accomplishing your goal of PI work in DC because of its stronger reputation in the area than Maryland's.

Sounds like W&M has all the advantage except for the distance from SO, but that's an entirely personal issue.

William and Mary. It's just a stronger school overall (particularly with regard to DC placement).

This, but probably because I'm bitter towards Maryland.
