Top Law Schools

I'm leaning BU, because I prefer Boston and I'm not optimistic about the DC market. I know if I were ambivalent most people would say "follow the money," but I have a preference here. I like to think that BU is worth the extra ~10k (in that it's negligible in the long run), but maybe some people disagree.

You prefer Boston and the ultimate cost difference is negligible; this should be an easy choice (this is assuming that you correctly calculated the COA difference between Boston and Washington, which seems a bit overstated--would you be living at home if you went to BU?).

My calculations were cursory, but according to GW, the 2011-2012 year is going to be $74,400, and BU $60,300. No not living at home.

Theres no reason to. They're peer school and BU >>> GW for Boston. This is easy.

Probably just 0L's who are looking at the rankings and assume "Well GW is higher ranked, AND it would be cheaper to attend", not realizing the rest of the equation.

And if you prefer Boston in general, and are skeptical of the DC legal market (I heard from GW and GULC students say that the main reason they struck out on OCI is because they focused entirely on getting a job in DC), then going to Boston is easily worth the little extra.

I know, its as if we need to always factor in the "0L's who will always vote on the highest ranked school" variable into the equation as to not misconstrue the results. I've said for awhile that there should be some designation for posters, like some color coding system based on your class year. That way students wouldn't be mixed up between advice from actual students/graduates and advice from 0L's
