Hi TLS-
I'm currently waitlisted at ND and Emory (both longshots). I've been accepted to Loyola Law School with a $29,000/year scholarship and U of Miami with a $24,000/year scholarship. My parents will help me with some of my living expenses. I'm from central Florida and more than a little nervous about moving to Miami. I went to the ASD and wasn't completely sold. Unfortunately, I probably won't make it out to LLS's ASD, but I've been to LA before and think I would like living there. If anyone has any objective advice about which law school I should attend (especially concerning which school has better job prospects), I would really appreciate it! Oh, and in terms of specialization, I'm thinking about tax law.
Thanks!

LLS is the dreaded top 30% stip and Miami is a 3.2 (apparently 89% kept it last year).

89% of 1Ls at UM had a 3.2!? Wow, that surprises the hell out of me.

89% of the people given the 3.2 stipulation pulled a 3.2 or higher during their 1L year.

I don't know where a 3.2 is in relation to Miami's median, but I'm assuming it's lower than top 1/3. So, easier scholarship stips and a lower COA makes it a no brainer for Miami. I get that you're nervous about moving to Miami, but you should be a hell of a lot more nervous about losing your scholarship at Loyola when you don't finish in the top 1/3.
I'm going to add the disclaimer that you really should retake the LSAT and try to get in somewhere that offers scholarships without stipulations, because they're a really bad idea (or get money from another school and use it to negotiate away the stips at Miami/Loyola). You have no way of knowing what your grades will be like 1L year and you don't want to put yourself in a position of paying sticker for these schools, especially when you thought you were going for much cheaper. If you're unwilling to retake/reapply, then see above.
