Top Law Schools

Looking for some opinions on three of my top choices.. I am going to OCS this summer and I am committed to Marine JAG program so location is not really a big thing... I live in Upstate NY so syracuse is the closest and the cheapest with scholly 33,000 yr, PSU w 20,000 yr and OSU at sticker... any feed back about the schools in general or opinions would be helpful

go where you are most comfortable.

also- see if the marines have a preference.

The Marines dont care where I go but being near a base would be nice

then go where you are most comfortable

Any chance you could get in-state at Penn St or OSU?

im trying through the marines but it doesnt seem like its gonna happen. I dont think Penn State has in state tuition does it?

In-state tuition is really easy to get at OSU for 2L and 3L. That's about all the advice I can offer though.

I went to PLC a few years back after being enlisted...Anyway, how difficult is it to land a gig for Marine Jag right now?

Penn State does not have in-state tuition.

what would make this decision a lot easier would be a crystal ball that lets me see US news rankings for next 10 yrs and see if PEnn state will go up as much as some people predict it will.

Wait are you already in JAG, like you have a job waiting for you when you graduate? If so go to the cheapest one

well i got to go through OCS get through law school then go through the basic shcool but yes if I do all that I have a job waiting

Go to Syracuse. Low COL and awesome scholarship. Have fun!

Go to OSU because there is nothing better than being a Buckeye

tell him you are going to law school and will be willing to help them out as best you can- or will help get them in touch with good lawyers who will take the case without leaking it to the press.

How did you get into jag before law school, if you don't mind me asking. I wNt to get into jag and am thinking of going to cuse myself.

im not in JAG yet... I applied to the PLC law program for Marines. Marines are only branch who will guarantee you a spot for law before law school. If I get through OCS law school the bar and basic school and military justice school I am guaranteed a JAG spot

Got it. When I visited I talked with a 3l that got into army and marine jag. He said there are a few professors that did jag once upon a time as well. So syracuse seems to have good resources for jag.

I am really torn btw PSU and Cuse.. OSU would be a lot more inviting if it wasnt sticker

If you have a job lined up minimize your debt. That said, Columbus is awesome.
