He clearly articulated his factors. A lot of the polls are just like... "I want to practice in DC, NY or California, but I have a ton of connections in North Carolina and my fiance might want to go to dental school next year..." That's when you just get the rankings regurgitated back at you.thewarflamingo wrote:Yeah, I'm very surprised and happy to see that especially because my previous choosing a school thread leaned heavily towards Illinois in the poll.FeelTheHeat wrote:Im fascinated by how many votes there are for UF. Yeah I agree. I wasn't trying to be dishonest by not withdrawing, I just hadn't gotten around to doing it yet, you know? I definitely don't want to come across that way to UF though, so I think I'll refrain from trying to negotiate again. I'm planning on withdrawing from everywhere on Monday though, except maybe Illinois because it's kinda like my security blanket right now.dadamafia wrote:It comes off as extremely dishonest imo so I would encourage you not to do that.
sounds like my situation at Illinois right now.thewarflamingo wrote:eh, my cycle is already outperforming my numbers, so I'm happy with my current options. The only disappointment was that I expected to get into SMU with at least 60K, but I'm in limbo there right now. I know one LSAT point would completely change my situation at SMU, but I think I'd still lean towards UF just because of my uncle's connections even though Dallas is my ideal market. Plus, my gpa holds me back at UT so a higher LSAT won't do much for me there. But yeah, my highest score is from a retake, so no more retakes for me.bk187 wrote:Retake/reapply for UT/SMU?
Yeah, neither school is huge on placing in Texas, though I've heard (as you no doubt also have) that Illinois has a great career services dept. But if you don't think that it's reasonable to assume you will get a job in Texas, UF gives you a much better shot at what seems to be your next favorite option.thewarflamingo wrote:Yeah, I'm very surprised and happy to see that especially because my previous choosing a school thread leaned heavily towards Illinois in the poll.FeelTheHeat wrote:Im fascinated by how many votes there are for UF.
