Should I go to school this year or reapply?

Hey all,
3.0/172, with work experience. I am currently on 8 waitlists, but I have an 84k scholly from WUSTL and a 120k scholly from Indiana (and in at GW, but no $)
I'm considering forgoing my acceptances (after I ride out wait lists) and reapplying next year. Please vote. Thanks.

No desire to take the scholarships at IU or WUSTL?

IU and WUSTL are both very good schools if you want to live in the midwest.

ED to UVA is no guarantee with your GPA

What is the "shotgun approach"?

The WUSTL offer isn't bad. Where do you want to work? Also when did you apply this year?

Also, what kind/how many years WE? Can you keep working if you reapply next year?

when did you apply?
people on this forum, while generally pretty informed, are so ignorant of how much applying early vs. late alters your chances.
if you applied between 9/1 and 12/15 and got those results, then ride out the waitlists and take what you can get, you're unlikely to do better next year.
HOWEVER, if you applied 12/16 on, (especially 1/1 on), yes, reapply, you will have much better results.

Did you already get denied/waitlisted by Northwestern this year?

This is somewhat true, but if he applied this year and got flat rejected the school can still see that and is unlikely to change their decision without new info/scores. If he was waitlisted, yeah going early could make the difference.

fair enough about the rejection, but thats why its just smarter to apply early in the first place. however, if we're talking about 8 waitlists here...I think what i said above is pretty on point.

Is it sad that I'm so used to snark on here that I kept looking for the sarcastic "fix" in the quote?

I have applied to NU, but I am currently on hold. For UVA, I'm waitlisted. I applied late November / early December for all schools, and I don't really want to practice in midwest. Thanks for the input everyone - seems like the responses are pretty divided, so I'll bump this thread up for now.
Oh crud...I edited the poll, and it just reset all the votes...dang. Well it was 10:4:10.

I applied last cycle around 9/20ish.. got into uga with a small scholly on 3.0 165. I know someone that applied at start of january with 3.2, 166, and they got waitlisted.
From scholly-- W/L. Thats a giant difference. If you didn't apply early, do it again next year. You could be exactly the type of student a school is looking for- but they have just already filled up thier slots.
