Accepting a scholarship

Post by letthegamesbegin » Wed Mar 23, 2011 8:58 pm

What is the general consensus on accepting a scholarship and then not actually attending the school?

Ex. Miami wants to know by April 1st if you are accepting a scholarship but deposits are not due until April 15th.

What happens if I am still waiting on decisions and something changes between the 2 dates or even later on in the spring/summer? Or does this happen all the time and there are no repercussions?

call the school and tell them your situtation. let them know that they are a top choice ( but not the top choice) and you are worried about losing the scholly. they will tell you what to do.

the only way to accept the scholarships I've received is through putting down a deposit. You may want to check because you probably have to put your deposit down by 4/1 if you want that scholarship.
